My Story

My Wellness Journey – It’s Been Quite a Ride!

Grab a coffee and let me tell you a bit about my story. My health journey didn’t start with a clear path, but rather a lot of trial and error. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was in high school, and honestly, I had no idea what that meant or how to manage it. But I was determined to figure it out. I wasn’t going to let this diagnosis control me, so I started working out and trying to eat “healthy,” but I was still spinning my wheels.

After a lot of trial and error with different diets, workouts, and routines, I finally realized that this wasn’t about more effort – it was about smarter choices. My passion for fitness grew stronger, and I began studying it while at university. I even got certified as a personal trainer and worked one-on-one with clients at a local gym. At the same time, I was studying to become a teacher. I loved working with kids and ended up teaching full time after graduation. But still, something was missing.

Finding the Missing Piece: Nutrition

While I was teaching, doing yoga, and working out every day, I felt like something was still off – my nutrition just wasn’t where it needed to be. I tried every diet in the book: counting calories, cutting carbs, skipping meals, you name it. But it wasn’t until 2014, when I finally hired my first online coach, that things started clicking. I learned that less is more, and for the first time, I understood how to properly nourish my body and make it part of my everyday life.

This breakthrough led me to make a huge decision in 2015: I stepped away from teaching and went back to school to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. That decision changed everything for me. I spent eight years working as a Nutrition Program Coordinator, helping women reclaim their health, and I loved every minute of it. But life had more in store for me…

Becoming a Mom and Reinventing My Health Journey

In 2018, I became a mom. It was hands down the most rewarding and challenging chapter of my life. Then, in 2020, just as the pandemic hit, I had my second child. The postpartum journey was a struggle. I gained 50 pounds during my pregnancy, and I’ll be honest – losing it didn’t happen in six weeks like social media might suggest. It took time, patience, and small, consistent changes. I lost the weight in 9 months, and the most important part? I kept it off.

As a mom juggling two young kids, I totally get it. Life is busy, and there’s always something demanding your attention. But here’s the thing – when you take the time to put yourself first, it’s not selfish. In fact, it’s the best thing you can do for everyone around you. Taking care of your health gives you more energy, more joy, and more balance in your life.
